I started getting involved beyond the “voting in every election” involvement in 2004, when George W. Bush was in office and had led us into the Iraq War despite large protests around the country and the globe.
I was a founding member of what became Northside Democracy for America (NDFA), a founding member of the Steering Committee, and Chair/Co-Chair since 2011. NDFA exists to help elect Democrats to all levels of office who are socially progressive, fiscally responsible, and ethically committed. We do that by hearing from candidates, endorsing, and then volunteering on campaigns.
On a personal level, I’m a single mother of a high school senior, a mid-level university administrator, and a former theater artist. I hold a PhD in theater history, literature, and criticism from Tufts University. I’ve lived in Albany Park since 1999, and before that lived in Uptown and Lakeview.
